This program is geared towards children in second grade (age 7 or older) and is scheduled on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:00am and continues into the 10:30am mass. Lessons are dynamic and active, so no need to worry about them sitting still for hours! We start with our hands-on lesson from the Blessings program. The students are up and moving during this part of the program. Occasionally parents are asked to stay and participate in our lesson. This is because the Church is about family and community, not individuals, and as such, it is important for you to share this journey with your child. These dates are marked on the schedule, so you have plenty of notice. There is a short snack break to be followed by the Children's Liturgy of the Word. We read the Gospel and have a child friendly homily and discussion. Our goal is for the children to be able to relate Jesus' lessons to their own lives, to understand why it matters to them, and how they can live by His example. They join their families upstairs for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. As they get ready to share in this sacrament it is important for them to join our parish community to participate in this part of the mass. Please note that if there is a week that your child does not have class he/she is still welcome to join us downstairs at 10:15am for the Liturgy of the Word. These dates are on the schedule.
